I was born in 1974 in Cairo, Egypt. At the age of 2.5 years my parents moved to Port Said, a small city by the Mediterranean. This is where I spent my childhood
and where I attended primary and preparatory school. I started learning French at the age of 3 and English when I was 6.

At the age of 15 I moved to Cairo to attend high school in Collège de la Salle el daher. Collège de la Salle is one of the oldest standing French schools in Egypt. It was established in 1898 and is considered one of the top French schools in the country. I graduated in 1991 in the top 1% of graduating high school students in Egypt that year.

I received my B.Sc. degree in "Control and Computer Engineering" July 1996 from Cairo university, which is one of Egypt’s most reputable universities, with a graduation grade “Very Good” (equivalent to B+). and a “Distinction” in my graduation project.

In October 1996, I joined the Information Technology Institute, for a 9-month course providing training for state of the art software technologies. Skills acquired through this course were used to implement a project with an ITI affiliate firm. The project consisted of the analysis and design of business processes, preparation of a feasibility study, a business plan, and process automation using an Extranet linking the company with its suppliers and distributors.

From October 1997 until February 1999, I was working as an analyst/programmer in Citymax Egypt (a branch for a British company working in the field of software development in the banking and securities sectors, most known for its programs Broker Max and Arrow. This company was later acquired by EDS. Upon joining the company I had a three months training which included Banking, Securities and Accounting Courses.

I participated in the Assessment and Remediation phases of International Brokerage System (IBS) Y2K Project for CSFB NY (Credit Swiss First Boston). I then joined the ARROW team responsible for the ARROW project, a securities package that provides the interface and system functions required to support CREST (London’s stock exchange settlement system by the Bank of England).
The GUI was developed using UnifAce, the background processes were implemented on a UNIX Alpha server using C++, embedded SQL and shell scripts and connected to an ORACLE 8 server.

In May 1999, I started working as an analyst/programmer in Unatrac International (a holding company that owns eight companies in UK, Africa and Asia and is the sole dealer of CAT machines in these countries). In less than one year I managed to build the a Data-mart with a web reporting system, a customer and call reporting systems and a stock control and tracking application (SCS) to track Unatrac machinery and spare parts as it’s moving from It’s suppliers till it is delivered to the customer in one of the territories.
The transformation layer for the Data Mart was implemented using VBA, the Intranet reporting, the Customer and call reporting systems were implemented using ASP and VB6.
I traveled to UK in order to do the analysis and design for the SCS, the system was implemented using ASP integrating with the company Active directory for security.

In April 2000 I finished several tests and became an MCSE and MCDBA.

Starting August 2000, I joined Microsoft Egypt to work as a technical specialist. I was responsible for recruiting and supporting Microsoft partners in Egypt working on SQL Server 2000 and Microsoft development platform to develop large Scaled solutions. Part of my duties included Implementing and consulting Data warehousing and OLAP projects.

I create an initiative in Egypt to connect to developers, by delivering regular weekly sessions focusing on Microsoft development and Business Intelligence platform. These sessions attracted lots of Egyptian developers and lasted for the last three years.

Starting October 2004, I moved to Microsoft Canada for a Partner Technology Specialist (PTS) position. I was responsible for readiness and support of Microsoft partners developing SQL Server and Business Intelligence solutions. My responsibilities also included supporting Microsoft partners during sales engagements to achieve SQL Server Quota as well as strategic wins for SQL Server.

I helped recruit and train several Business Intelligence partners and was instrumental in building the Business Intelligence Partner community in Canada with more than 20 active partners trained on the latest Microsoft BI technologies.

I started several initiatives that led to increased customer and partner satisfaction. Some examples include internal readiness by delivering jumpstarts to Microsoft Canada sales and technical teams, train-the-trainer for other PTS team members and several TSP Academy classes to Microsoft technical community. I also started an initiative with other PTS team members in Canada to develop partners’ technical capacity by training all Microsoft Dynamics Partners on the Microsoft BI platform. This initiative led to increased partner competitiveness and win/loss ratio in Dynamics deals and increased Partner satisfaction.
